Doug Womack HypDip (NCH) MBHT is a hypnotherapist, psychotherapist and coach specialising in trauma recovery, PTSD, anxiety, and fears.

My approach is shaped not only by professional training, but also by lived experience. I understand what it’s like to feel stuck in survival mode, and what it takes to move beyond it.

I offer a safe, supportive space where you can begin to reset your nervous system, break free from limiting patterns, and rebuild a genuine sense of inner safety.

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a natural state of focused awareness where the subconscious mind becomes more receptive to beneficial suggestions. In this state, deep change can occur safely and effectively. You remain fully present and in control throughout

Will i lose control during hypnosis?

No, you will remain fully aware and fully in control at all times, hypnosis can only happen if you let it happen.

What is hypno-psychotherapy?

A hypno-psychotherapist combines hypnotherapy and psychotherapy to work with both the conscious and subconscious mind.
While traditional talking therapy focuses on thoughts and behaviours, hypnotherapy allows us to access deeper patterns held in the subconscious and nervous system.
This means we can:
Work beyond surface-level thinking
Gently address root causes of anxiety, trauma, and emotional patterns
Support change at both a psychological and physiological level
Sessions may also include elements of somatic (body-based) work, helping you regulate your nervous system and feel safe in your body again.

How is this different from traditional therapy?

This approach works with the nervous system and subconscious, not just conscious thought. This often allows for deeper, more lasting change, especially with trauma and anxiety

What does hypnosis feel like?

Most people describe it as a state of deep relaxation or daydreaming. You’re awake and aware the whole time, simply more focused and open to positive suggestions.

What issues can hypnotherapy help with?

Hypnotherapy can support a wide range of concerns including stress and anxiety, fears and phobias, unwanted habits like smoking, confidence, sleep difficulties, trauma release, and weight loss. 

Can this help with PTSD, anxiety, or cPTSD patterns?

Yes. This work is specifically designed to support people dealing with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, fears, and deeply ingrained patterns.

Do you offer emdr or other therapy approaches?

Yes. I integrate a range of therapeutic approaches depending on your needs, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), Parts Therapy, IFS, NLP, EFT, mindfulness, Havening, somatic (body-based) techniques, content-free hypnosis, CBT, and other evidence-based methods.

Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, each session is tailored specifically to you. This allows us to work in a way that feels safe, effective, and aligned with your nervous system.

By combining these approaches, we can support trauma processing, nervous system regulation, and subconscious rewiring, helping you move beyond survival patterns and create lasting change.

You don’t need to know which method is right for you, that’s something we’ll decide together based on your goals and what feels most comfortable.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your goals. Many clients notice changes within 1–4 sessions, while some choose longer support around 6 -10 sessions for deeper trauma work or ongoing issues. 

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, I work with many clients from around the globe online as it is just as effective as in-person sessions and gives you the extra comfort of working from home.

What happens in the first session?

We’ll start with a relaxed conversation about your goals, answer any questions, and explain the process. Then we’ll begin with gentle psychotheraputic and hypnotic techniques tailored to your goals. You’ll leave feeling calm and clear about the journey ahead.

What are your rates and payment options?

Rates vary depending on the nature and complexity of the issue, this is why we always have a chat before booking to ensure we can offer a plan that helps you meet your goals. Flexible payment options are available, and we accept a range of methods to make getting started simple and stress-free.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require a 48hr notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations incur the full session fee. Please contact us directly if you need to change your appointment.  We do not offer refunds or allow switching from a package to pay as you go format.  (See Terms for more details below.)
